Welcome to British Car Auctions

With a reputation for service, excellence and corporate integrity stretching back 60 years in the auto auction industry and with a network of auto auction centres across the UK and European mainland BCA has remained at the very cutting edge of the auto auction business.

Here are brief details on the key areas of buying and selling a vehicle at an auto auction. Full information is available in a free booklet called "General Guide to Buying and Selling" which can be obtained by calling BCA Customer Services 0845 6006644. All auto auctions are operated in accordance with our Conditions of Sale and Entry which are both on display at Auction Centres and available from the previous telephone number.

How do you buy at an Auto Auction?
All vehicles are available for visual inspection before the auto auction and by referring to the catalogue, you should decide on how much you wish to spend. In most cases the vehicle will be started and driven before the rostrum.

Auto auction Bids are made and at the fall of the hammer, the highest bidder must go (if not a BCA Account holder) straight to the rostrum to pay a deposit of £500 or 10% of the hammer price (whichever is the greater). The deposit can be paid in cash at the rostrum at the time of sale. Alternatively a deposit can be paid in advance of bidding with the cashiers in the Customer Concourse in cash or by a UK issued Delta or Switch card.

How do you enter a vehicle for an Auto Auction?
You can deliver the vehicle to the chosen auto auction centre or collection can be arranged. Prior to it being accepted for sale, an Entry Form must be completed accurately and fully, signed and presented with any appropriate documentation.

When completing the mechanical condition section of the Entry Form, the vehicle must be described using one of the Selling Descriptions detailed in the "general guide to buying and selling". The odometer mileage must be shown and identified as Warranted or otherwise.
